There was a change in parameter alarms and warning settings.
after the update, upload and update has been done.
Suddenly the valve went from fully open to fully close.

Can the upload and update to project be the cause of this?
we have done on the same process but different string in GTL but it does not act like that. The PIDA is in manual.

on first look I must say that Upload and Update will never drive your valve as these commands do changes in Project side (Offline Database), so there must be some other things which has caused movement of the Valve, above statement is supported by your second observation that the same action has been performed on a different string also but nothing has happened on that string.

I am completely agree with Yogi...Upload and Update to project is not cause any changes in the valve position....while uploading and updating we are reading parameter from the device not writing any parameter to the device.....
I would recommend to check if anything else happens at the same time when you did upload and Update to the project..
